Glam Groupies!

My latest blog post; GLAM GROUPIES is an opulent collaborative of bodies including Cheryl Bryson of BRYSON&HARE, make-up by KAREN BOWEN and photography + editing by Kat of MIAOW MCDONALD PHOTOGRAPHY with styling by myself Rachel Valentine, and of course vintage clobber by Strange Ray Vintage! Our mood board started with our muse and wheels for the day, ROSIE the red VW campervan - generously provided by our friend Denise. We shot on a dreich (rainy grey day for all of y’all not from Scotland!) Sunday afternoon and despite the down pour that led us to abandon location #1 we got some KILLER shots and we are so pleased to share them with you. Enjoy!

MODELS : MAISIE , GINGER (GEORGIA) + MYSELF; rained on RACH who will retire from the latter part of this shoot to hide behind the camera and observe these BABES work their looks!

THOSE EYES - all the Twiggy and Sharon Tate vibes coming off our models with their stunning seventies style hair & BIBA inspired make-up. Shop Ginger’s mustard moc-croc vintage 60s purse and dagger collared snakeskin dress by hitting the links!

‘BABY YOU CAN DRIVE MY CAR

YES I’M GONNA BE A STAR!’

KINKY BABY!

Is anyone else going home to dig out their hair crimpers RIGHT NOW?!

I adored the 70s tortoiseshell resin belt buckles Cheryl used to style in Maisie’s mane! I’ve seen this look across the catwalks and was absolutely thrilled she used them on the shoot - I hope it inspires everyone reading to get creative with their hair styling! And can we take a minute to appreciate those innovative false eyelashes used on our doe-eyed baby, Maisie - check out Karen’s incredible portfolio here. An abundance of experience from a leading lady in the make-up artistry community!

Jerry Hall eat your heart out! Georgia’s blowdry and vintage set curls were incredible, the volume was extraordinary! Can we all have a Cheryl signature blowdry on hand for every weekend please? Karen created a sunset bold cateye that had me crushing and a little bit jealous I didn’t get to jump in the makeup chair this time. LOVE LOVE LOVE this look.

Headshots captured and with the rain back on, we headed back to our cosy retreat for a much needed team cuppa, a quick hair + makeup refresh and for an outfit change. Look at these two pros at work! I was in awe. And also eating all the pastries I could get my paws on…

BIBA

Our key influence for this photoshoot, BIBA, really kicked in for this phase. The midnight blue & golden hued colour palette against Georgia’s auburn hair and Maisie’s sunset eyes was just so aesthetically pleasing, I’m sure you will all agree!?

The dynamics and architecture in these two hairstyles is phenomenal and so inspiring. You can shop this mustard yellow sherwani tunic now and that stunning blue & gold Indian cape two piece will be available real’ soon…follow Strange Ray Vintage to make sure you know when it’s LIVE to buy!

And with that, it’s a wrap! What a dream team and absolute pleasure it was working with each of these talented ladies. Credit to Kat of Miaow Mcdonald Photography for the glorious frames she captured and edits that she toned for HOURS and many megabytes later. To Cheryl for her gorgeous hair as always, and for introducing us all to make this magic happen. Bryson&Hare is a dream salon, especially if you love a Seventies shaggy style and appreciate a beautiful, cool as f*ck salon! Thank You Karen for blessing us with your skilled artistry with a make-up brush and blush - I don’t know how she does it (seriously, I blinked and she had created a smoky cateye that would have taken me hours + many tantrums!). And of course a big huge Thank You to our models Georgia & Maisie - we literally could not have done it without you and you were both just the dreamiest vintage babes! Make sure you check them all out and please leave us some positive comments on Instagram or Facebook - we would love to hear from you. And stay tuned for our next collaboration in the new year!

THAT’S A WRAP!
