I never bore of finding inspiration from Pinterest and for my second shoot with Chloe Sidey I pulled together an album of images that captured the aesthetic I was going for. On a recent stock buying trip for Strange Ray Vintage, I also found some additions to my personal wardrobe. Here I have modelled them with the hope I can encourage and inspire more vintage styling with modern garments. BUT FIRST, take a look at my little moodboard and get vibing with me…

DIAMONDS & RUST

We keep scoring with these gorgeous sunny days for shooting despite it being a freezing cold winter in Scotland. Chloe and I met in the cute coastal village of Tayport on a Monday afternoon with no real plan of location. If I’m honest I was feeling a bit dubious about being able to rock any good shots of myself, I was so unwell that morning and was doubled over with a hot water bottle until I had to get moving. Luckily, motivation set in when I pulled up in my car and spotted this perfect red fire station garage door...Then we were on a roll!

T-SHIRT : Electric Eye Apparel

If you haven’t yet heard of Electric Eye Apparel, where have you been?! This music inspired embroidered and custom tee brand exploded onto the scene last year with a KILLER Instagram @electriceyeapparel and hooked me up with some badass tees including this black ‘It’s only Rock & Roll’ plus ‘Suck It And See’ and ‘Go Your Own Way’ in white. I love ‘em and have seen Electric Eye working with so many cool bloggers and influencers I follow. It’s all in the details with this vintage silk oriental kimono, I adore the tassel trimmed waist tie and the burnt orange shade. It’s seriously up there with one of my favourite vintage finds for my wardrobe!

Q & A

This would probably be a great time to take a little break from all these photos and share a little Q+A I recently did with journalist Sarah Thomas from London College of Fashion. I really enjoyed doing this and it gave me the opportunity to put my thoughts into words (something I’m not very good at!) regarding subjects surrounding fast fashion, vintage clothing, sustainability and my inspirations. Some of the points I have touched on but didn’t fully delve into in this particular interview, I will ABSOLUTELY be revisiting and blogging about in the future as I’m very passionate about a few important topics mentioned. But for now, enjoy and I hope it reads ‘REAL’ because again, writing is not my strong point. I’ve just said it how it is!
