Turquoise Skies

I recently got together with the lovely CHLOE SIDEY to shoot some looks from my personal wardrobe. We shot on a chilly December afternoon in Dundee and wanted capture those icy skies against the rust brick tones of the Saint Cyrus neighbourhood. I wore my ‘Velvet Goldmine’ jumpsuit by RAT&BOA - a favourite from a collection of theirs a couple of years ago, and styled it with some vintage treasures and some statement hats from SACRED HAWK and H&M.

Don’t feel disheartened if you can’t get hold of this jumpsuit anymore - Rat&Boa have a KILLER new collection available, plus there’s loads more in this kinda vibes from VELVET CAVE so go check ‘em out!

If you follow me on Instagram or know me in real life, you’ll know that I’ve lived in this snake bakerboy cap from SACRED HAWK all year! It’s the perfect shape and is great for sticking on when I need a Rock ‘n’ Roll finish to my look…or just need to wash my hair. Usually the latter!

I’m OBSESSED with vintage leather biker jackets, especially those with fringing! There’s something in the way they move and the charm of the old battered leather that tells a story - and boy if they could talk I’m sure they’d have some badass tales of the life they’ve seen! I love this ASOS Reclaimed Vintage revived fringed leather biker jacket it’s a gents style and only available in size large now, but my vintage one is also men’s and super big - personally I think they look best a little oversized so don't be put off if this ain’t your size - just throw it on and make it work!

Excuse me while I kiss the sky!

Most of my ink is done by my pal Heather who is now living and tattooing in Amsterdam, but you can also catch her guest spotting in Edinburgh studios a couple of times a year - check out Heather Cheung Tattoos here.

I made this leopard print fringed kimono and used to make similar styles out of vintage sourced fabric and old curtains or table cloths…who thinks I should start this up again? Would you be interested in buying them from Strange Ray Vintage? Answers on a postcard! (or slide into my DM’s, it’s less romantic but HEY that’s the world we live in huh).

How good is this vintage embroidered cape?! It has a matching tunic to wear underneath. I adore the midnight blue and golden tones! This WILL be available to buy this summer from Strange Ray Vintage - it just needs a little TLC and repair work by myself, but make sure you are following on INSTAGRAM because that’s the first place you know when it’s available to buy.

Considering this was the first ever ‘test’ shoot Chloe and myself ever did together, the results turned out amazing and I’m so happy with them. She really knows how to spot a great shot and work her lens! I am so excited to work with this wee talent of a lady on a regular basis - we have BIG plans together for 2019. WATCH OUT for the next blog coming real soon!
